Is it possible to be so hot that one is cool? Tyra Banks is about to test that out. The former supermodel-turned-entrepreneur has announced that she’s launching hot ice cream. If you’re wondering what that is, you’re not alone. Banks has an ice cream company called Smize & Dream that has a shop in Australia. She apparently came up with the idea for hot ice cream in honor of her mother, Carolyn London. She explained that when her mother was working, every Friday night after dinner and homework, they would have girls night at the Häagen Dazs ice cream shop in Hollywood. While enjoying their ice cream, they would talk about their dreams. Fast forward decades later and Banks is a star best known for not only her modeling, but also for her reality show America’s Next Top Model. She recently announced what she calls the world’s first hot ice cream experience. It’s actually your favorite scoops transformed into liquid — hot ice cream that’s sippable. It’s called “Hot Mama” and appears to be……….well……..melted ice cream. Color the Internet confused, with some even turning a cold shoulder towards the product. Unlike traditional ice cream or hot chocolate, it's intentionally churned and warmed to create a creamy consistency that can be sipped from a cup. The U.S. launch is scheduled for this winter, and it’s a safe bet that people will probably have even more questions after they try it out.
