Apple is Redesigning the Mac Mini

Rumors are swirling about Apple putting an end to the Mac Mini, a desktop computer that was Apple’s only computer that shipped without a monitor, keyboard or mouse. While it's not eliminating the Mac Mini, Apple is redesigning it. Introduced in 2005, the original Mac Mini was modeled after the shape of a digital media player. It was the most affordable Mac ever, initially selling for $499, going up to $599 in 2006 and remaining that price until 2009, when they climbed to $799. The latest Mac Mini has been updated with a new design and M4 chip, which will provide it with more memory. It’s smaller than its predecessors, similar to the size of an Apple TV box. It has 5 USB-C ports, an HDMI port, and an Ethernet port. It’s not clear exactly when Apple plans to release the new model, but it will be before the end of the year.
