McDonald’s has launched a new globally inspired menu item across Canada: McShaker Fries. First introduced in Hong Kong in 2005, these fries are served in a large bag with a seasoning packet on the side. You simply dump the seasoning package in, close the bag, and shake it up to coat the fries in the seasoning. McShaker Fries are available in two different flavours: churro and masala. There's just one problem: they're not available everywhere, including the U.S. Apparently, some locations in the U.S. did have the McShaker fries for a while, but they didn’t catch on. Social media users are complaining, with comments like: “Why does Canada get all the cool stuff?” and “Why can’t you guys be more creative in the U.S. like in other countries?” McDonald’s, like many other fast-food restaurants, have seen customer numbers dip. To get them back, McDonald’s plans a $5 bundle meal beginning June 25. Customers will get a total of four items: either a McDouble or McChicken sandwich, small fries, four McNuggets, and a small soft drink. Burger King has a similar $5 deal, while Wendy’s has launched a $3 breakfast meal.
