Home renovator Sandra Marie has taken to social media claiming that we’ve been using screwdrivers wrong our entire lives. She claims that instead of twisting a screwdriver with your hand, you’re supposed to connect the end to a socket wrench and use that to turn it, which gives it more torque. She pointed out that screwdrivers have ridges that make it easy to attach to the socket wrench, making the job of tightening or loosening screws a much more simple job. There are screwdrivers that are specifically made so you can use a wrench on them for tight screws, while typical screwdrivers have a round shank that goes into the handle. Those are designed for uses with wrenches that have a square or hexagonal shaft and are made of stronger steel.
