Luxury RV Maker Bowlus Has Created the World’s First Electric Travel Trailer

Merging Scandinavian design, luxury and sustainability, California-based Bowlus has just launched the Volterra: the world’s first all-electric RV that can be kept off the grid entirely, thanks to solar-powered energy. Its electricity stems from AeroSolar, a lightweight yet efficient system that charges the RV while it’s being driven, absorbing up to 480 watts of energy and providing 65 miles of EV charging. It also powers Volterra’s sophisticated amenities like heated floors and high-speed Internet. The 27-foot trailer’s interior, which has real-wood walls and ceilings, offers accommodations for four adults. Inside the cabin you’ll find a galley with a two-burner induction cooktop, a spacious entertainment area (that can sleep two), a hotel-style en suite bathroom with a shower, and a bedroom with room for a true king-size mattress with top-of-the-line linens. Of course, all of this luxury doesn’t come cheap. The Volterra starts at $310,000.
