Finally, a Major Cereal Brand Has Debuted a Resealable Bag

For everyone who has taken steps to preserve the freshness of their favorite box of cereal and extended its life in the pantry, there’s finally a long-awaited solution that comes with the product. General Mills recently announced that Cheerios has teamed up with Ziploc to create the first-ever resealable bag inside a traditional cereal box. This new innovation will make it easier to pour, reseal, and help keep cereal fresher longer. The development — which comes 85 years after Cheerios was first invented in 1941 — was the result of consumers perfecting their own longevity hacks — from folding the open bag and clipping it at the top to putting all the cereal into another container with a sealed lid. Now Cheerios has a Ziploc PantrySeal that partially opens across the top of the bag, creating a convenient pour spout. The bag can then be sealed closed, right inside the box. The Ziploc PantrySeal will come with boxes of Cheerios and Honey Nut Cheerios, available exclusively at Walmart.com before rolling out to retailers nationwide in coming months.
