For more than a year, at the start of every month, the people of Beeston in the UK have been finding a plate of peeled bananas in exactly the same place. Between the first and second day of each month, a plate stacked with 16-20 peeled bananas shows up on the corner of Abbey Road and Wensor Avenue and residents have no idea who’s behind it or why. Despite signs asking the perpetrator to stop, it doesn’t look like the fruit is going away anytime soon. Some have speculated that the plate of honey-drizzled bananas are being left for the local wildlife, but so far no animal has ever touched them. The mystery has divided the small English town, with some residents excited about it, while others find the whole thing disgusting and annoying. It’s hard to believe that no one has ever seen the person leaving the plate, but now that the bizarre story has gone viral, it’s safe to say that residents will be keeping a close eye on the intersection going forward.
