New Food Products Being Introduced

Companies typically introduce new food products several times a year, with estimates suggesting that around 15,000 new food products enter the market annually. Unfortunately, the failure rate looms at about 90%, with the average time spent on developing new foods being about two years. Larger companies rely on a product development team that includes food scientists, food engineers and marketing experts. The following are the new foods being introduced this month.

McCormick’s New Aji Amarillo Seasoning: The new seasoning is described as a sweet, spicy blend with medium heat and tropical notes of oak smoke, garlic, and onion. Unfortunately, it’s a limited-time product, so you’d better grab it now.

Dr. Pepper has announced a whole line-up of new flavor innovations, including 7UP Tropical, which is a marriage of lemon-lime, mango and peach. Available in regular and zero-sugar, it can be found at retailers nationwide in 12-oz cans and 12-packs.

Taco Bell has introduced a new dessert: Milk Bar Birthday Cake Churros. The dessert comes in a single or two-pack order of warm, crispy churros stuffed with Milk Bar’s iconic birthday cake frosting and topped with confetti sprinkles. This, too, is a limited-time product. Fans can grab a single churro for $1.99 or a two-pack for $2.99.

Oreo is celebrating its birthday on March 6 by letting us eat cake. The cookie brand has just unveiled its new product: Oreo Double Chocolate Cakesters. A permanent new addition, the product will feature a chocolate flavored creme filling sandwiched between two chocolate snack cakes.
