Man Has $227,000 “Unstealable” Car Stolen Less Than 3 Days After Buying It

A British man, identified only as John, bought a $227,000 2024 Range Rover SV Edition from a dealership in Coventry, UK. The vehicle featured $12,500 graphite wheels, a luxurious high-tech interior, and seats that vibrate to the sound of music playing in the car. John knew it would attract attention, but he claims the dealership told him that the car featured a security upgrade that made it theft-proof. Unfortunately, just 2½ days after John drove the Range Rover home, it was stolen from his driveway. CCTV footage shows a car drop off three individuals around 1 a.m., two of whom headed right for the Range Rover. The third acted as a lookout. None of the thieves got close enough to John’s house to use a key scanner, but they somehow managed to gain access to the car. It took just 15 minutes for them to get it started and drive off. John believes that the fact that someone just dropped the thieves off means they were confident they would be able to get what they came for. John lodged a complain with Jaguar Range Rover (JGR), claiming a “catastrophic failure of the security system advertised as state-of-the-art,” but the company is having none of it. A spokesperson said that JGR will not consider reviewing any claims of responsibility because car theft is a risk that all car owners face.
