Some Apple Devices Are Now Obsolete, Leaving Owners With No Support

Although Apple releases several devices every year, even more are quietly consigned to the technology scrap heap, and 2024 is no different. The tech giant has quietly added iPod Nano, iPod Shuffle and iPhone 6 to its dreaded obsolete products list, which means users worldwide are without any support if something goes wrong with their device. Apple sold several generations of iPod Nano and iPod Shuffle between 2005 and 2015, but the ones just added to the obsolete product list are the final models it ever released back in 2015. They are the iPod Nano 7th generation and the iPod Shuffle 4th generation, which Apple stopped selling back in 2017. Essentially, this means if the product stops working Apple is not obliged to fix it. Apple has also added the iPhone 6 standard model to the list, having already made the larger iPhone 6 Plus obsolete back in April. So, it’s just a matter of time before iPhone 7 through iPhone 13 — all retailing for around $650 — are made obsolete as well.
