Shoplifting “Steven Seagull” Banned From Shop

A shoplifting bird dubbed “Steven Seagull” has been banned from the Lyndale Central store in the seaside village of Wyke Regis in Dorset, UK, for flying off with bags of potato chips throughout his 6-year crime spree. Staff at the store have put up posters urging customers to close the door behind them in a bid to stop Steven from ripping them off. Stuart Harmer, the manager of the store, said the crafty seagull has made off with about 30 bags of chips in the past 2 months alone. “Trying to explain to the powers that be that I’ve got stock loss because of a seagull — they think it’s a joke,” said Harmer. He went on to explain that Steve comes in the shop when the doors are open, puts his head around the corner of the door, grabs a bag of chips, and flies off with it. Steven is apparently particularly fond of the BBQ flavored chips. Once he’s outside the shop, he uses his beak to open the bag and then eats the chips in the street alongside his feather friends. In a desperate move to stop the thief, the staff of the shop put out a selection of spicy-flavored chips, but Steven ignored them and still managed to find his favorite flavor.
