People Are Being Tricked Into Buying Seeds of Cat-Face Flowers That Don’t Exist

Scammers are always finding new ways to take advantage of gullible people, and apparently selling seeds for fake flowers generated by artificial intelligence is one of their latest tricks. Artificial intelligence is touted as the next big thing in the technological evolution, but right now it also seems to be a perfect tool for scammers looking to take advantage of people who can’t tell the difference between what’s real and what’s not. Forget the elaborate scams where AI is used to fake actual people’s faces and voices, now it’s being used to create flowers that look like cute little cat faces. There’s only one problem: the flowers don’t exist. Seeds with names like “Cats Eye Dazzle” are currently being sold on various legitimate-looking websites, as well as popular e-commerce platforms like eBay and Etsy, for anywhere from $15 to $30 a pack.
