Dentist Reveals the Time of Day Should Should Not Eat or Drink

Dr. Ellie Phillips is a health expert who frequently shares her tips and tricks for looking after your pearly whites. Most recently, the dentist, who is based in Austin, Texas, took to social media to reveal why eating in the afternoon can negatively impact your smile. Phillips says you should “leave your mouth alone” for at least a couple of hours after eating lunch in order to give your saliva time to mineralize your teeth. What you eat for lunch will have an effect on the quality of the saliva in your mouth during the afternoon, so having a salad for lunch is really good. Once you’ve eaten, it’s hands off any food or drinks for at least two hours.
