Australian Mother Makes a Terrifying Discovery In Her Daughter’s Toy Box

A woman from Queensland, Australia, got a huge shock when she found a highly venomous red-bellied black snake hiding in her daughter’s toy box. The concerned mother immediately called Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers. Stuart McKenzie, who runs the snake-catching service, said it was one of their wildest jobs yet. The snake was about 3-4 fingers thick and extremely healthy, said McKenzie. Once he captured the snake, it was released back into the wild. Red-bellied black snakes are common throughout eastern Australia. While they are normally reserved, if provoked they can deliver a deadly bite, with their venom causing bleeding, swelling, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, sweating, muscle pain, and weakness. An untreated bite can be fatal.
