There’s something beyond a first-class plane cabin, but to experience it you’ll have to book a flight on Etihad’s A380 The Residence, a hotel suite in the sky. Featuring a private lounge, an en-suite shower and toilet, and a separate bedroom with a double bed, it appears to be the world’s best plane cabin. What's more, there are notable millionaire-pleasing pre- and post-flight VIP extras, like a personal butler who delivers hot coffee and pastries and turns down your bed when you’re ready to retire. There’s also a luxurious sofa, a television, a small kitchen, and a table for one. There are two windows in The Residence, each with two blinds – one that filters sunlight and one that blocks it out – that can be lowered by arrow-shaped buttons underneath them. There’s storage everywhere, including in the ottomans. There’s a mini wardrobe for coats, and multiple bags can simply be slid under the bed. Needless to say, all this pampering doesn’t come cheap. The fare will run you $4,457…….one way.
