KFC Is Bringing “Chizza” To America

In case you missed it, Chizza is a new menu item at KFC locations that combines America’s favorite food groups: chicken and pizza. The Chizza (pronounced "cheet-za") is a mashup of fried chicken and pizza that's been on menus in the Philippines since 2015 and has been regularly featured at KFC locations in Germany, India, Korea, Mexico, Spain, Taiwan, and Thailand. On Monday, February 26, Americans can finally get our first taste of the Chizza, which takes a pair of KFC’s Extra Crispy fried chicken fillets and tops them with marinara sauce, melted mozzarella cheese, and crispy slices of pepperoni. If you’re in New York City and can’t wait another minute to have a pep-and-cheese covered chicken filet, then you’re in luck. KFC is opening what it’s calling “the world’s first Chizzeria” on Saturday, February 24, and it will be serving up some of America’s first Chizzas. The pop-up restaurant will be located at the KFC at 242 E 14th Street in New York City, and its staff will be serving the new menu item from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. The Chizza will be available at participating KFCs nationwide for a limited time and can be ordered either on its own or as part of a combo meal that includes one Chizza, an order of Secret Recipe Fries, and a medium drink. The solo Chizza starts at $9.99, while the combo is expected to be priced at $12.99.
