Woman Buys a $6,000 Wedding Dress For $25 At Goodwill

Emmali Osterhoudt was pretty sure she would eventually get married when she decided to spend $25 on a gorgeous wedding dress she found at Goodwill in her hometown of Birmingham, Ala., in September. Out of curiosity, she looked the dress up online and discovered that it was designed by Israeli designer Galia Lahav, a brand that's been worn by Paris Hilton, Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, Simone Biles, and BeyoncĂ©, to name a few. The white lace dress, which has crystal and pearl embellishments throughout the floral design, typically sells for $6,200. On Wednesday, Emmali posted on social media that she is now engaged. Her long-time boyfriend, Nick Gould, popped the question in front of Buckingham Palace in London. Needless to say, Emmali said “yes!” When Galia saw the video about the story of Emmali and her Goodwill find, she decided to donate other wedding gowns to Goodwill. Emmali said she can’t wait to wear her beautiful designer wedding dress, and now other women will have the chance to find their own Galia Lahav at Goodwill.
