New York’s Priciest Studio Apartment Sells For $3.88 Million

When you think of a New York City apartment selling for nearly $4 million, it’s likely you conjure up photos of a massive apartment with several bedrooms and bathrooms. If that’s the case, you would be wrong. The lavish apartment located just steps away from Central Park at Mandarin Oriental Residences on New York’s Fifth Avenue is cramped one-room apartment that is a meager 691 square feet. The 15th-floor apartment works out to be $5,615 per square foot, making it the most expensive studio apartment to sell in the city this year. However, some say it’s a bargain after the price was lowered from $3.93 million, which doesn’t include the additional common charges of $2,577 a month. The property is fully furnished and comes with a 167-square-foot private terrace, access to the rooftop pool and cabanas, an in-residence sommelier service, a spa with a steam room, and a fitness center. All you need to do to move in is bring your clothes. The building itself is home to 65 residences that are provided with perks such as room service and housekeeping.
