Peel Hard-Boiled Eggs Perfectly EVERY Time and All You Need Is a Spoon

Heather Burns from Fishers, Ind., has taken the Internet by storm with a simple trick she uses to peel hard-boiled eggs, and they’re perfect EVERY time. She uses the back of a metal spoon to tap the base of the eggs before placing them in a pot of water. Apparently, when tapped with a spoon there’s a snap that means the albumen has popped away from the outside of the shell, guaranteeing that the egg will be simple to peel. Some of the eggs take a little longer to snap than others, but most snap with a couple of taps. After the eggs are tapped, Burns puts them in a pot of boiling water for 10 minutes. She then plunges them into an ice bath to cool them. Once the eggs are cooled, she cracks them on the counter and peels them. Those who have tried the trick say it works and it works every single time.
