Hyundai New Vehicle Steering Can Make a 180-Degree Turn

Hyundai has unveiled a new vehicle steering technology called e-Corner System, an all-in-one package module that allows a vehicle to make 180-degree turns. The technology allows for applications like parallel parking in a tight space by adjusting the wheel angle, and retreating from a dead end by making a 180-degree turn. The video below shows the car performing the “crab walk,” which lets all 4 wheels turn 90 degrees to perform parallel movement, as well as several other movements provided by the new technology. This innovative technology has never been mass-produced anywhere in the world, but Hyundai suggests that it may be seen on vehicles in the near future. The company is developing a wide array of essential components not only for steering and braking, but also connectivity and electrical.
