The Holme – The World’s Most Expensive Mansion

The Holme — a 205-year-old London mansion — is currently on the market for an eye-watering $300 million, which makes it the world’s most expensive mansion. Known as the “White House of Regents Park,” its massive scale and style resemble that of the White House in Washington, DC. Featuring 40 bedrooms, 8 garages, a tennis court, a sauna, a library, and a grand dining room, the mansion sports 29,000 square feet of living space. Built in 1818 by Georgian property developer James Burton and used by Bedford College for several decades, The Holme became a private residence in the 1980s. The mansion is expected to draw the interest of both foreign and domestic buyers, many of whom wouldn’t even consider living in it, preferring instead to add it to their investment portfolios. The 2-story mansion may be considered the world’s most expensive mansion, but technically it’s still behind Villa Aurora, a villa in Rome that hit the market last year with a selling price of $539 million.
