The No-Bake Dessert You'll Want to Make All Summer Long

Heaven on Earth cake is an easy no-bake dessert that simply needs to be assembled and chilled before it can be enjoyed on a warm summer day. The main ingredients of the dish are angel food cake, cherry pie filling, a vanilla pudding mixture, and, of course, whipped topping. The simple assembly and combination of ingredients make a light and decadent dessert.

Servings: 8

Ingredients:
• 1 14-oz store-bought angel food cake, cut into 1-inch pieces
• 1 21-oz can cherry pie filling, divided
• 1 package vanilla instant pudding mix
• 1½ cups milk or half-and-half
• 1 cup sour cream
• 1 8-oz container frozen whipping topping, thawed

  • • Spread 1 cup cherry pie filling over the cake.
  • • Top with the remaining cake pieces in an even layer.
  • • Whisk together vanilla pudding mix, whole milk, and sour cream in a large bowl until slightly thickened and smooth, about 1 minute.
  • • Pour pudding mix over top of cake and spread evenly.
  • • Spread thawed whipped topping over pudding layer and dot with remaining 1 cup cherry pie filling.
  • • Using a toothpick or spoon, swoop and swirl pie filling into the whipped topping.
  • • Refrigerate, uncovered, for at least 8 hours or up to 12 hours.
  • • Garnish with sliced almonds (optional).
