Cracker Barrel Engages in More Backtracking to the Delight of Customers

After months of defiance, Cracker Barrel is finally succumbing to pressure from its loyal fanbase by bringing back two menu favorites: Hamburger Steak and Eggs in the Basket, both classic comfort dishes. Thomas Yun, Cracker Barrel’s Vice President of Menu Strategy, said bringing back the dishes was an easy choice. “Not only are they timeless favorites with deep roots on our menu, they’re also among the most requested dishes," said Yun. Both dishes have been on the menu since the chain opened in 1969 and both are included in Cracker Barrel's Meals for Two value offering, available all day Monday through Friday for $19.99. The company is still rebounding after losing $25 million in the last three months amid the controversy of changes made at the chain. There’s still no word on how long it will be before the chain opts to get rid of CEO Julie Feiss Masino, who many say started the negativity ball rolling.
