Smellebrities: Actors Whose Hygiene Habits Have Prompted Complaints From Co-Stars

Being a Hollywood actor is one of the most glamorous professions around, but it has a downside that not many people know about……bad hygiene. One of the most surprising celebrities who has openly admitted she smells bad most of the time is British singer Charlotte Church. “I don’t wear any deodorant or anything, so I generally stink,” she confessed. Joining her in the bad hygiene department is Brad Pitt, who says he often replaces a shower with baby wipes. “When you’re sweating and don’t have time to take a shower, you just take a baby wipe and rub it under your armpits,” said the star. Only last year, Matthew McConaughey was called out by his co-star Kate Hudson for not wearing deodorant while they were filming Fool’s Gold. Despite being anti-deodorant, McConaughey insisted that he takes his personal hygiene seriously, claiming to take multiple showers daily and brushes his teeth up to five times a day. Ironically, joining McConaughey in a dislike of deodorant is Hudson, who admitted that both of them can be offensive when it comes to hygiene. Meanwhile, Arnold Schwarzenegger doesn't have a hygiene problem, but was once called out for farting on-scene. Apparently, he made no secret of it. Surprisingly, Jennifer Lawrence has been slammed for not having fresh breath. Her The Hunger Games co-star Liam Hemsworth once said that he was uncomfortable in their kissing scenes because her breath smelled like a combination of garlic and tuna fish. Sandra Bullock reportedly complained about Ben Affleck’s bad breath when they starred together on Forces of Nature. She even gifted him a box of mints to help deal with his halitosis. Finally, Scarlett Johansson was called out by co-star Matt Damon on the set of We Bought a Zoo. He claimed she had onion breath during their kissing scene and then continued to make fun of her all day. Johansson took the kidding with a smile, saying she did, indeed, have an onion sandwich for lunch right before filming. So, the next time you think you have a body odor or bad breath problem, just remember that even the rich and famous face the same problem.
