Giant Inflatable Santa Causes Holiday Stir

Dora Flores, of Severance, Colorado, put up a giant inflatable Santa in her backyard as a way to celebrate the Christmas season. The inflatable is 28 feet tall and can be seen by drivers blocks away. Flores said the Santa brings a lot of happiness to their house and the community, but what she didn’t expect it to bring was a letter from her HOA. The letter, sent by Fromm and Company, said the Santa Claus inflatable is excessive in height and is not permitted, instructing Flores to remove it immediately. The letter didn’t state specific height restrictions but was accompanied by a list of possible fines. The family took the Santa down for a while, but then the community got involved. They created a social media campaign and reached out to community officials to try and save Santa. Then Tuesday, Flores said she received news that the upper management of the HOA had made a mistake. They apologized and assured Flores that Santa can continue to grace her backyard. Neighbors, like Linda Hooper, gathered with Flores to help her celebrate. “I love the outcome! I love that we came together and that Santa is staying!” said Hooper. “Maple syrup and cocoa for everybody!”
