Urgent Warning to Gmail, Outlook and Yahoo Users
It has been revealed that more than 183 million passwords were stolen in a data breach. All the major providers — Gmail, Outlook and Yahoo — are warning their users to check to see if their email data has been compromised. To check if see your email address been compromised, head to the website Have I Been Pwned and enter your email address in the search bar. Next, tap on the button marked “Check my email" and the site will show you the list of data breaches affecting your email address. If you find that your email address has been compromised, you should immediately chagne your password on any platform that uses it. Even if not included in the recent breach, your details may have been involved in past breaches going back over a decade. Once you've changed your password, enable two-factor authentication if you haven’t already, which sends a code to your smartphone to get into your online accounts.
