In 2020, Ryan McLeod became trapped underneath a vehicle when he was involved in a car accident. Kirsty Southern had just left swimming class when she saw a car’s wheel flatten Ryan’s leg, and he was banging furiously on the driver-side door trying to get the motorist to move. Rushing over without a clue as to what to do, Kirsty ended up comforting Ryan for some 40 minutes while emergency services made their way through the gridlocked traffic. She said that despite the circumstances, she remembered thinking how attractive he was as she cradled his head in her lap. She even checked to see if he was wearing a wedding ring. The accident ripped Ryan’s ankle open and reduced the range of movement in his foot. As a result, he was forced to undergo reconstructive surgery. Ryan took to Facebook to ask for witnesses to crash to get in touch with him. Kirsty and Ryan began chatting on Facebook, and one thing led to another. Now the couple are getting married, and they say they owe it all to Ryan’s misfortune. When it came time for their photos, they both knew that one had to be atop the pedestrian crossing where they met.
