A Pennsylvania family’s pet cat ended up joining them for a weekend adventure in New York City when they found the feline had stowed away atop their van for 100 miles. The Denardo family said they made it about 100 miles from their home in Kittanning before they stopped for gas and discovered their cat, Ray Ray, was clinging to the luggage strapped to the roof, having held on during speeds of up to 70mph. Mara Denardo (inset) explained that the family was on their way to New Hampshire for a marathon, and then on to New York City. After discovering their stowaway cat, they began wondering what they should do, ultimately deciding that Ray Ray would just have to go with them. They stopped off at a pet store to pick up food and other supplies for Ray Ray, who made the remainder of the trip in the comfort of a cat carrier. “He had such a good time and a great adventure,” said Mara. Needless to say, any future getaways will be preceded by a thorough cat check.
