Model Binds Herself in a Corset for 23 Hours a Day to Maintain 18-Inch Waist

Miami model Aleria Avendano is being criticized for spending more than $1 million on cosmetic procedures to achieve one of the world’s smallest waistlines at 18 inches, which she protects by wearing a corset for an astonishing 23 hours a day. The 33-year-old has endured considerable backlash over her bizarre regimen, with many branding her actions “stupid.” Avendano says it’s been a major investment, with enhancements, treatments and healthy food costs. To complement her million-dollar middle, she has spent an additional $638,000 on seven breast augmentation surgeries, five nose jobs, butt implants, and new teeth — all over nearly two decades. The cost of her jaw-dropping figure hasn’t just taken a toll on her wallet — it’s also physically painful, with Avendano confessing that constantly wearing corsets has caused her organs to “shift” and “adjust” to the snug squeeze. Doctors, however, warn against taking such drastic measures. “In my medical opinion, she should stop this immediately,” said Dr. Andres Ruiz. He went on to say that while Avendano may not have done any permanent damage so far, continuing to put that kind of stress on her organs could pose serious dangers like organ displacement, breathing difficulties, and muscle atrophy.
