A 19-year-old man, going by the name Donny Boys because he doesn’t want his real identity revealed, has set out on a quest to visit all 13,544 McDonald’s locations in the U.S., despite the fact that it may cost him hundreds of thousands of dollars. Donny, who has had a lifelong love of McDonald’s, decided to combine that with his fierce passion for traveling. He kicked off the endeavor in July 2024 and has been to around 350 locations in states like Wisconsin, Illinois, California, Oregon and Washington. He insists that his eating habit hasn’t negatively impacted his health because he has a very balanced diet to counter all the fast food he eats. Donny has been documenting his travels on his TikTok account, reviewing each location’s food, atmosphere and cleanliness. The fast food lover says he’s not worried that he’ll get sick of the beloved burger chain because he’s been eating it regularly since he was 14. The bad news is, with more than 13,000 locations still to go, it would take Donny over 36 years to finish the quest if he visited one McDonald’s every day. He estimates it will cost him around $500,000 to $750,000 in travel expenses like food, hotels, gas, flights and car maintenance. He recently launched a GoFundMe page for people to help fund his endeavor, receiving a paltry $105 so far.
