Violet Sky, a singer from New York City, has a fascination with the ‘80s that has turned into an obsession. After watching the 1985 film Girls Just Want to Have Fun, she was drawn to the fashion, hairstyles, and the music. She now tries to live every day like she’s in the 1980s, dressing in vintage clothing, driving an old Camaro, and transforming her apartment to look like it’s from that decade. The endeavor hasn’t been cheap, as the budding musician confessed that she has spent thousands to recreate the 1980s. Unfortunately, Violet says she gets stares from people when she’s out in public, and people online make negative comments, but she’s not bothered by any of that. Violet is now turning her obsession into a career, releasing authentic ‘80s music over the last few years. Aside from her musical career, she also manages a vintage clothing store in Manhattan. In the end, she hopes to inspire others to embrace whatever makes them happy, even if some people think it’s weird.
