World's First Smart Dog Collar Uses AI to Track Pet Health and Detect Escape Attempts

Scratching and licking are among the subtle nuances that often go unnoticed by pet owners, but that’s about to change. Industry leader in smart pet technology, Fi has launched the world’s first AI-powered dog collar with Apple Watch integration for owners. The device collects insights, including location, sleep cycles, food and water consumption, barking, licking, scratching and exercise. If your dog escapes, the device will send a notification to your smartphone that alerts you that your dog has exited the home. If your dog jumps the fence and makes a run for it, the device can track the pooch anywhere in the U.S. Data aggregation is used to identify and track pet health concerns as well. For example, if a dog is drinking more than usual, it might be symptomatic of a kidney issue. If the dog is licking their paws more than normal, it could be a symptom of a rash or irritant that the owner may not be aware of. Pet owners can also use the Fi mobile app to get information on their pet to be shared with their veterinarian. The company is hoping that the device will be a key pillar of what the next generation of vet care is going to be for dogs.
