The Californian had just put $40 into a lottery ticket vending machine at a supermarket in Los Angeles when someone bumped into her, causing her to accidentally push the wrong number on the machine. Edwards said she typically buys cheaper tickets, but the accidental button push meant she purchased a $30 scratch-off ticket. She was annoyed because she had just dropped most of her money on a single ticket. Once in her car, she began scratching off the $30 ticket, quickly realizing that she had won the top prize of $10 million. Edwards said she’s going to spend some of her winnings on a new house.
