While about 15,000 new food products are introduced each year, the failure rate can be as high as 90%. The average time spent on developing new food products is about two years, which is why many larger companies rely on a product development team that includes scientists, food engineers and marketing experts. New introductions include new products, new flavors, new package sizes, and even new varieties of existing items. Unfortunately, some of the highest rated products are also limited-time products. Occasionally, companies will take queues from consumers and bring a limited-time item onto the full-time menu, but it’s rare. Here are some of the new products that have been announced:

Nutella Peanut is coming, and it’s the brand’s first-ever flavor flip. Ferrero is introducing a new flavor that blends the classic cocoa hazelnut with roasted peanuts. According to Ferrero, it took five years to develop Nutella Peanut, which has them betting that it will add to the brand’s growing popularity. Nutella peanut will go great on crackers, with desserts, or atop waffles. The downside……you have to wait until Spring 2026. The upside…….it won’t be a limited-time product, but will join Ferrero’s lineup permanently. |
