Kentucky Fried Chicken to Become Texas Fried Chicken

Kentucky Fried Chicken — better known as KFC — has taken some heat after announcing that it plans to move its corporate headquarters from Kentucky to Texas. The chain’s parent company — Yum! Brands — said it would move about 100 employees from its office in Louisville, KY., to Plano, Texas, where the group’s Pizza Hut chain is headquartered. Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear said he was disappointed by the decision because the brand started in Kentucky and has marketed the state’s heritage and culture in the sale of its product. Yum! Brands said its strategic decision would allow it to “foster greater collaboration among brands and employees." Several companies have moved to Texas from other states recently, attracted by its lower corporate taxes. KFC fans shared their views of the planned move on social media, with some joking that the company should be rebranded as Texas Fried Chicken.
