Country singer Dolly Parton is not new to the cooking scene. She has already released a line of baking products, including mixes for cookies, pancakes, muffins, biscuits, cornbread, cakes, brownies, frostings, frozen pies, and even macaroni and cheese. Now she plans to continue showing her love for Southern cooking by introducing a line of frozen meals. The first four meals include Chicken and Dumplings, Beef Pot Roast, Country-Fried Steak, and Shrimp And Grits. The Chicken and Dumplings meal includes chicken mixed with dumplings and vegetables in a creamy sauce. The Beef Pot Roast features juicy beef pieces with potatoes, celery, and carrots in a brown gravy. Parton’s Country-Fried Steak package contains a fried beef patty with “country-style gravy.” Buyers will also get a side of green beans, mashed potatoes, and bacon with the meal. Finally, the Shrimp and Grits Comes with cheddar-cheese grits topped with shrimp, cherry tomatoes, and scallions in a spicy sauce. In addition to the single-serve meals, Parton is rolling out a frozen dessert — Biscuit Batter Peach Cobble — for those with a sweet tooth. No release date has been provided just yet, but they’re expected to appear in grocery stores within the next few months.
