Woman Makes a Shocking Discovery Inside Cabinet She Bought From Facebook Marketplace

Everyone loves a bargain, so when one woman’s secondhand find ended up being worth way more than she thought, she took to social media to share her good fortune. Amanda DeWitt was excited when she found the most stunning Louis the XVI buffet on Facebook Marketplace. After collecting the marble-topped sideboard for $40 — a tenth of what it retails for online — and taking it home, she opened all the drawers to inspect the interior. What she found left her speechless: it was full of orange Hermes boxes and one blue box from Tiffany & Co. In the Hermes boxes, she found 12 solid gold-trimmed dessert plates with the Hermes logo in the center, which retail for $250 a plate, and a dessert plate that retails for $185. The Tiffany & Co. box contained a serving knife, which can easily run $600 or more. DeWitt immediately contacted the seller, who realized she had forgotten to clean out the buffet. DeWitt said she knew she had to do the right thing by returning the china to the seller. It turns out that the plates and serving knife were from the woman’s wedding china set. “Doing the right thing always pays off,” said DeWitt.
