A Florida dog missing for more than a week came home on Christmas Eve and rang her owner’s doorbell to announce her return. Brooke Comer said it was about 2:30 a.m. when her 4-year-old German Shepherd named Athena came pawing at the door, ringing the doorbell. The dog had been lost on December 15th, which prompted a frantic search. “People all the way from Jacksonville and Saint Augustine were inboxing me,” said Comer. Athena wasn’t fitted with a microchip to help identify her, but Comer said they would make sure they get that done after the holidays to prevent further escapades.
