The Cities Most Likely to Have a White Christmas

As the weather cools down, it’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas. In some places, the holiday is accompanied by a blanket of snow reminiscent of a Christmas card. Of course, certain regions are more likely to experience snowfall than others. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) considered climate trends from 1991 to 2020 to determine which cities will likely have a white Christmas. As expected, northern states dominate the list. Fairbanks, Alaska, ranks No. 1 with a 100% chance of snowfall. Aspen, Colo., comes in as a close second with a 99.9% chance, while Breckenridge, Colo., rounds out the top 3 with a 97.7% chance of the white stuff.
