A cake in the shape of Taylor Swift fell apart as it was being prepared for an international baking competition, and photos show the life-sized treat’s final moments before its designer had to withdraw from the competition. Artist and baker Elza Baldzhiyska was planning on showing off the Swift cake at Cake International near the city of Birmingham in the U.K. The cake began to bend at the knees, which prompted Elza to hold the model up with one hand as she tried to fix it. Eventually, it became evident that the cake could not be salvaged. Before it became distorted, the cake portrayed Swift wearing her well-known custom Atelier Versace bodysuit adorned in pink and blue jewels and the matching glittering knee-high boots that she wears on the set of her Eras Tour, which wraps up in December. The photos of the wilting cake show Swift without hands, but the organizers explained that the hands were purposely left off, to be added later on. Cake International — which ran from Nov. 1-3 at the National Exhibition Center — celebrated its 30th anniversary this year, and the Swift cake was set to be a focal point of the ceremonies.
