Shocking doorbell footage has emerged showing the moment a FedEx driver was brutally assaulted by an unknown assailant for a package of mobile phones. As the worker nears the door, activating the Ring doorbell camera, a man can be seen approaching from a vehicle. As the video shows, the two men get into a brawl, before the homeowner comes out and joins in the fight. The porch pirate manages to get away with the package, and now police are warning drivers and homeowners that porch pirates are no longer content to snatch packages once they've been delivered. Delivery companies are now scrambling to come up with ways they can protect their drivers, short of arming them. With the holidays approaching, law enforcement says it’s only going to get worse. Their advice: never engage a porch pirate. No package is worth risking your life. The best thing to do is have packages sent to your place of business, to a friend or relative who will be home to receive it, or by using services that provide pickup lockers, like Walmart, Amazon, or Parcel Pending.
