New Texas Restaurant Fools Fans With Very Unique Dishes - But Can You Spot What's Wrong?

If it looks too delicious to be true — it probably is. In the case of a restaurant in Texas, it's even more true. The Internet has become enthralled with a restaurant called Ethos because of its extremely artistic food. There's just one problem: it doesn't actually exist. Although Ethos has 75,000 followers on social media, where it shares photos promoting its food and options, everything was created by artificial intelligence. At first glance, the food produced by the eatery — including a croissant shaped like a hippo, a pizza made to look like a foot, and a bouquet of chicken wings — seems trendy and looks delicious. Users on social media, unaware of the restaurant’s nonexistence, have been posting comments like, “Available for pickup?” and “Can you mix and match flavors?” It isn’t clear who the mastermind behind Ethos is, but the unknown puppeteer is making income despite not serving a single plate of food. While past research has found that AI-generated images of food look more appetizing than real photos, the Food Institute is concerned that AI imagery could potentially foster unrealistic expectations about how natural foods should look and potentially harm sustainability efforts such as the promotion of “ugly” fruits and vegetables. The imaginary restaurant even offers advice about how and when to make reservations, but it turns out that even the website is fake. Remember......everything you're about to see as you scroll down is fake.
