That’s because in a few weeks Jaguar will unveil what it’s billing as “a radical and jaw-dropping new electric car.” The sporty 4-door GT Grand Tourer is one of three new electric vehicles upon which the car maker is staking its entire future. With prices starting from just under $130,000 — double that of the average current Jaguar — up to $160,000. It will be followed by a sleek 2-door fastback coupe model and a large SUV. Over recent months, Jaguar bosses have teased tantalizing details and images of their plans. This tedious drip-feeding will continue until that first car – arguably Jaguar's last chance saloon – is finally unveiled. All current Jaguar models are being phased out and there will be a long gap until the new electric Jaguar is launched in 2026. If this latest strategy fails, Jaguar might have to sell off its brand to China. Then those Chinese cats will have all the cream.
