Hormel’s newest product will give bacon lovers even more reason to love it. The company has announced a first-of-its-kind product called “Hormel Black Label Oven Ready Thick Cut Bacon with Oven Safe Tray.” Lengthy name aside, it will not only save you time, it’s also a mess-free way to enjoy crispy strips, no flipping needed. Cooking only takes 20 minutes — or more if you prefer more crunch — and you can discard the tray afterward without having to a lay a finger on raw meat. The bacon is cut and trimmed from quality cuts of pork for thick cut slices that don’t break apart. Then they are rubbed with a proprietary brine of seasonings and natural hardwood smoke that gives the bacon a complex, savory flavor. The package is not resealable because it's designed to cook one time with minimal handling. Any leftover cooked bacon should be stored in an airtight container. Hormel’s new Oven Ready Bacon is now available at Walmart and Kroger, with a full-scale release to follow in 2025.
