A car enthusiast, identified only as @gucci_lemon_reloaded, was mercilessly mocked for wrapping his Chevrolet Corvette is a plastic sheet to protect it from Hurricane Milton. He posted a video of himself on Twitter, rolling out a sheet of plastic in preparation for covering his prized possession to protect it from damage. The owner said he was inspired by a Porsche owner in Tampa that did the same thing to prepare for Hurricane Helene and his car survived. Needless to say, both men took quite a beating on social media for wrapping their cars instead of trying to move them out of harm’s way. Now the Corvette owner is joining the Porsche owner in reporting that his car has survived as well. Still, social media users are questioning the validity of the video, with one person saying, "What if he was never in the hurricane's path?” "If he truly is 9 miles from the water and a Category 5 hurricane was approaching, would plastic wrap really have kept his car safe?" We will never know.
