Kangaroo’s Epic Double Jump is Caught on Video

Last week, Nathan Xuebsy and his crew were at a job site in Victoria, Australia, when a wild visitor entered their midst. It was an energetic kangaroo who, passing by them, ultimately wound up in the confines of a fenced-in empty lot. The crew opened up a portion of the metal fencing in front to grant the kangaroo an easy escape, but the bouncy animal had other plans. Rather than slip out through the open metal fence, the kangaroo decided to hop over the wooden portion of the fencing instead. In doing so, he achieved a sort of “double jump,” sending him soaring higher in the air that he had likely been expecting. Xuebsy caught it all on video. Thankfully, while the kangaroo’s loftiness might have come as a surprise to him, his descent over the other side of the fence appeared to be controlled. For kangaroos, landing from such heights isn’t that great of a feat. They’re actually capable of vertical leaps of up to 10 feet, so the high-flying intruder was able to land and keep hopping without missing a beat.
