Historic Minnesota Bank Was Transformed Into a Glamorous Home

A historical bank that was turned into a one-of-a-kind home is on the market for $499,000 after undergoing a 2-year transformation. What was formerly the Park State Bank in Duluth, Minnesota, has been turned into a sleek family home by Andrew and Jennifer Holperin. The couple took on the project in 2022 when residential property prices skyrocketed. What’s unusual about the home is that it has five bathrooms but only one bedroom. That’s because some of the bank's features — like the vault and safe deposit boxes — had to remain in place. The 2,530-square foot property has two wooden mezzanines that overlook the main living area, 12 foot windows, and, of course, a spacious parking lot. The couple purchased the bank for $205,000, with a goal of finding a way to modernize the space without taking away its character.
