Costco Rolls Out Game-Changing Feature That Will Change the Way Customers Shop

Costco has launched a brand-new feature to its app that will change the way customers shop. The warehouse-based retailer will now let its customers check to see if an item is in stock at their local store before they make a trip to purchase it. The “search warehouse inventory” tool is in beta testing and currently only available to select customers, but Costco hopes to roll it out nationwide in the near future. The new feature can be found by clicking “warehouse” on the bottom of the app’s homepage and is situated between “account” and “cart.” Customers are able to select their most convenient stores to be tracked, and the app will then show gas prices and a search bar to look up individual items. The search bar allows users to search for products by name or even description. The app change comes as Costco hiked its membership prices for the first time in 7 years. The retail giant announced in July that it would be raising its standard membership from $60 to $65, and its executive level increased from $120 to $130 a year.
