Furious San Francisco neighbors say they’re losing sleep over a parking lot full of driverless cars that continually honk at each other. Residents in the South of Market neighborhood have recorded Waymo vehicles driving around in circles with their lights on and honking at each other. Initially, neighbors were excited to welcome the robo-taxis to the area, but then the constant honking began disrupting their sleep. One resident — 57-year-old Randol White — said he was first disturbed by the vehicles when they started going off around 4 a.m. He took his concerns to the company, but is now infuriated that there’s nothing he can do to make the cars stop. Waymo says they’re aware of the situation, have identified the cause, and are in the process of implementing a fix. Meanwhile, residents say they love having the company there, but they just want them to get the honking under control.
