Audio the kitten isn’t all ears, but he does have a few extra. The orange tabby born with 4 ears arrived at True Rescue in Mount Juliet, Tenn., on July 30th. The kitten arrived with 3 siblings, who have the typical set of 2 ears. The kittens had been abandoned in a box and brought to the rescue center by a good Samaritan. Kristin Condite, Director of Operations at True Rescue, said that when they took Audio out of his carrier, a staff member asked what was on his ear. A closer look revealed that the kitten had 4 ears — 2 right-facing and 2 rear-facing. Condite said it’s extremely rare to find a cat with 4 ears. They estimated Audio is around 8 weeks old and weighs 2 pounds. The center posted on their Facebook page that Audio is “simply ear-resistible.” Audio has been fully checked by a vet, who says the cat’s inner ears are completely normal and will cause no issues, other than having extra flaps to clean. Because of Audio’s upcoming vet visits, he’s not available for adoption yet, but True Rescue has plenty of other pets who are looking for a forever home. They have no doubt that they will be overrun with applications from people wanting to adopt Audio.
